Missouri Family Shares Support for Amendment 3
September 24, 2024
St. Louis, MO — Today, Missourians for Constitutional Freedom released a new ad featuring a Missouri family whose story highlights the urgent need for Missourians to vote Yes on Amendment 3 this November to end the abortion ban and protect the right to reproductive freedom.
The ad, titled “Our Decision,” shares the not-uncommon story of a couple, Cindy and Andrej, parents of two young children, who along their journey of building their family experienced multiple miscarriages, and a pregnancy complication that led to their deeply personal decision to have an abortion. Under Missouri’s current abortion ban, there are no exceptions for cases like theirs, and doctors are unable to provide women the care they need. As a result, Missouri families like Cindy & Andrej’s are left without essential health care options during some of the most painful moments of their lives.

In the ad, Cindy states, “Missouri’s abortion ban is terrifying.” The family hopes that by sharing their story, they can help others understand the profound impact that Missouri’s abortion ban is having on families across the state.
“We want Missourians to know that this is about real people facing unimaginable circumstances,” said Cindy. “Voting Yes on Amendment 3 gives people the freedom to make private medical decisions based on their unique situations.”
“Missouri’s abortion ban leaves no room for the complex realities families face while pregnant,” said Rachel Sweet, campaign manager for Missourians for Constitutional Freedom. “Amendment 3 will put health care decisions back where they belong—in the hands of patients and their doctors—by restoring access to life-saving reproductive care in our state.”
Amendment 3 is about protecting the health, safety, and freedom of Missouri women and their families. A Yes vote in November ensures that doctors can provide the care that women need, without political interference.
