WATCH: New Ads Highlight Devastating Impact of Missouri’s Abortion Ban, Urge Yes Vote on Amendment 3
October 1, 2024
St. Louis, MO — Today, Missourians for Constitutional Freedom launched two new TV ads urging Missourians to vote Yes on Amendment 3 to end the state’s abortion ban and protect the right to reproductive freedom.
In the first ad, “Equal Care,” Dr. Hendrix, a Missouri physician, declares that she is “voting Yes on Amendment 3 to stop the ban and save lives.” Missouri’s maternal mortality rate remains one of the highest in the nation. In Missouri, Black women are nearly three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than white women. CDC data from a 2020 report across 38 states, including Missouri, highlights that over 80% of pregnancy-related deaths were preventable. Dr. Hendrix is one of 800 medical professionals across the state who have endorsed Amendment 3, urging Missourians to end our state’s total abortion ban and give Missouri patients, with their providers, the freedom to make their own decisions around pregnancy and abortion.
The second ad, “Devastating Consequences,” details the harsh realities Missouri women face under the abortion ban. “Women are turned away from emergency rooms or forced to wait for their conditions to get worse,” the ad explains. It highlights the profound and sometimes fatal consequences of denying women care during dangerous pregnancy complications.

“The message is clear: voting Yes on Amendment 3 will protect lives and ensure doctors can provide life-saving care when it is needed most,” said Rachel Sweet, campaign manager for Missourians for Constitutional Freedom. “Amendment 3 is about protecting the health, safety, and freedom of Missouri women and their families. A Yes vote in November is essential to ensuring Missourians have access to safe and timely healthcare, like abortion, without political interference.”
